We live in a time where boosting your Immune System is particularly important. Most of us wash our hands, sanitize, and wear our face masks, but unfortunately, we all are still exposed to viruses and diseases.

Feeling Tropical.. Ready to go on a 5km run!

This is why it is so important to stay active, seeing as this is one of the key factors in boosting your immune system, a long side a healthy diet to make sure your body gets the nutrients to fight back against any diseased or infections.

I have Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder common among women, so I already struggle with anxiety, so put COVID and lockdown in the mix and you have a super stressed me… and stress suppresses the effectiveness of our immune systems. PCOS is also one of the reasons why I get B-12 injections every month.

Even though I am on a strict diet that is also enriched in healthy minerals and nutrients I am always looking for products that I can use that will boost my Immune system even further... So, when I recently came across the USN Vita C 1000. It is a combination of vitamin C for Immune support and electrolytes for hydration.

Not only does this drink taste amazing, but it helps me feel so much more energized than before! Before I started using it, I was always tired, but unfortunately that is due to PCOS as well.

Losing weight has always been very difficult, and at some stage I actually started to #overtrain and too much exercise can disrupt your hormones. Finding the right program that worked for my body was extremely important, and luckily for me I have access to a 24/7 personal trainer, who also cooks all my meals for me and makes sure I stick to my diet and exercise routine. The perks of dating an online personal trainer!

Workouts with @fit_chris_sa is always fun!

I lost almost 20kgs before the Lockdown, and even though I was exercising and eating healthy I still gained a few kilograms during the last couple of weeks, mainly because I felt like I never had energy so I wasn’t pushing hard enough during workouts.. Oh, and because we were not allowed to train outside for 3 weeks!

Women with PCOS struggle with blood sugar imbalances and high insulin levels and even though studies show that all forms of exercise are great for treating insulin resistance, they have also found exercises that focus on building muscle are even better. In the beginning it was difficult for me to understand, because I gain muscle easier, but losing fat is so much harder...

One of the biggest changes I made was cutting out caffeine, which is a total NO when you have PCOS, as well as Gluten and dairy that is also just as bad for women with #PCOS!! Getting enough sleep and trying to limit my stress was also crucial... So, on days when I really have a stressed day, we go for a walk so I can just relax and breath! I also make time to have a #selfcare pamper session, I mean there is nothing a face mask and some chamomile tea can’t fix, or a hot bath with a LUSH Bath bomb, am I right? I also decided to leave all the medication that the doctor prescribed to me, besides my B-12 injections, and I must say I am not where I want to be yet, but I am closer than I was a few weeks ago and that is what counts..
